RAIT Financial Trust is a specialty finance company that provides a
comprehensive set of debt financing options to the real estate industry in the
United States and Europe. We originate and invest in real estate-related assets
that are underwritten through an integrated investment process. We conduct our
business through our subsidiaries, RAIT Partnership, L.P., or RAIT Partnership,
and Taberna Realty Finance Trust, or Taberna, as well as through their
respective subsidiaries. RAIT is a self-managed and self-advised Maryland real
estate investment trust, or REIT. Taberna is also a Maryland REIT. Our objective
is to provide our shareholders with total returns over time, including quarterly
distributions and capital appreciation, while seeking to manage the risks
associated with our investment strategy. We were formed in August 1997 and
commenced operations in January 1998.
