2007 Developments
HBV
Prior to October 1, 2007, we developed, commercialized and manufactured
telbivudine for the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis B. Certain of
these activities were done with Novartis Pharma AG, or Novartis. Telbivudine is
marketed as Tyzeka® in the United States and Sebivo® outside the United States.
In April 2007, Sebivo® was approved in the European Union for the treatment of
patients with chronic hepatitis B.
