Founded in 1982, Immucor, Inc., a Georgia corporation (“Immucor” or the
“Company”), develops, manufactures and sells a complete line of reagents and
automated systems used primarily by hospitals, clinical laboratories and blood
banks in a number of tests performed to detect and identify certain properties
of the cell and serum components of human blood prior to blood transfusion. We
continue to place increasing emphasis on the development and sale of instruments
and instrument systems that use our proprietary reagents, while promoting
increased sales of our traditional reagent product line.
Developments during Fiscal Year 2007
Launch of Galileo® Echo™—In June 2007 we received U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (“FDA”) clearance to market our Galileo® Echo™ instrument in the
United States. The Echo™ was also recently registered as a CE marked IVD device
for distribution in Europe.
