The National Security Group, Inc. (the Company, NSG, we, us, our), an insurance
holding company, was incorporated in Delaware on March 20, 1990. The Company,
through its three wholly owned subsidiaries, operates in two industry segments;
property and casualty, and life insurance. The property and casualty
subsidiaries of the Company, National Security Fire and Casualty (NSFC), and
Omega One Insurance Company (Omega), primarily write personal lines coverage
including dwelling fire and windstorm, homeowners, mobile homeowners, and
personal non-standard automobile lines of insurance in eleven states.
Property-casualty insurance is the most significant industry segment accounting
for 89% of total premium revenues. The Company’s life insurance subsidiary,
National Security Insurance Company, offers a basic line of life and health and
accident insurance products in six states.
The Company’s common stock is traded on the NASDAQ Global Market under the
symbol NSEC.
